Somatic Vocal Coaching

  • Single Session: $90

    3 Sessions: $260

    5 Sessions: $430

Through the tools of Somatic Experiencing and Self Inquiry, we meet the true voice. When we ask to know our own voice, we are actually asking to know our true selves - that ineffable quality that is effortlessly “you”.

As we ask, ‘Who Am I’ through these dual inquiries into our being, we find the stories that have helped form our experience of life. As we find these stories with our full attention, our full and neutral observation reveals the truth of who we are. As the stories dissipate we are left with only our authentically true voice and self.

It has been said that there is one Earth and millions of worlds - one for each human experience. So, while each student is different, and the natural unfolding of the moment will be our primary guide for each session . . . here are some things that can happen in a session:

  • Somatic Experiencing - exploring the sensations of the body through stillness and/or movement

  • Self Inquiry - observing thoughts and feelings, beliefs and emotions

  • Music theory

  • Breath exploration & Pranayama

  • Pitch refinement & resonance focus

  • Finding your 'sound’ or your natural style

  • Songwriting

Together, we’ll find the true voice in a fully experienced, known and embodied way.

co-creating with sat sukh is always a joyous and nourishing experience. her creative process is an exceptional blend of intuition and sweetness. she has a natural gift of dancing with the flow of the moment as she expresses the nectar of her soul. every chance i am gifted to create with emily is a great blessing.”

"emily sat sukh teaches with grace and encouragement. in our vocal session she helped me to tune into my anatomy to assist my singing as well as opening up my voice and freeing up my body. the exercises she taught me have been invaluable in preparing me for my recent endeavors of singing publicly. grateful for her encouragement ..lucky are those who sign up!💛"

“I truly love Emily’s approach to vocal coaching. Her somatic approach, acknowledges how interconnected the systems of the body are. And this includes the voice. It feels like a whole person approach to vocal training. Her lessons feel like part yoga, part breathwork, part dance lesson, part self massage, part psychology and just a lot of fun human connection. The lessons and the homeworks build on each other to gradually encourage strength(more in the form of confidence) and ease in the body and the voice. For me, this approach which might lead to the releasing of stuck areas in the body, perhaps stuck by emotions, at times feels like a therapy session. And this approach of finding ease in oneself first, leads to ease in self-expression which comes through in the voice. It feels like a finding of your vocal truth, and being comfortable and proud to share it. A favorite quotes of her’s that I love is, “the voice is the most personal thing we share with the world...it is our primary mask”

i have had the privilege of having emily sing for many classes.

her music is an angelic gift from the heavens.
whenever she plays for class we enter a space where healing and joy can happen spontaneously and easily. her grace and presence is heard in every note she sings.

love is truly her offering and it is felt by all who come to class when she sings.
there are no words to describe the beauty and profound wisdom that is embodied in her voice and the sacred music that she shares. every class we’ve taught together has been a special moment for me. chanting with emily is an invitation for all present to reach out with our hearts and voices, to touch and be touched by the sacredness of life, that can sometimes only be felt through music.

teaching kundalini yoga with live music by sat sukh has been such an expansive and heartwarming experience. her expert use of combining mantras, melodies and healing harmonies is like having a choir of angels to personally guide you on your spiritual path. sat sukh is establishing herself as a major voice in the kirtan community.

may her gifts continue to touch as many people’s hearts as possible

Ganesha Michael Shapiro, Kundalini Yoga Miami

sat sukh is a nightingale with a mandolin. her beautiful timbre, as i have experienced, calls to the angelic domain. when she locks into her gift of voice, and gives it away to her listeners, they are offered a space to go into deep meditation that is touched with celestial notes. her music brings a nearness to divinity.

Elizabeth Bazen, Nine Keys Death Midwifery

“I’ve been wanting to learn how to sing and have taken singing classes but somehow I wasn’t really grasping their teaching methods. I came across Emily Sat Sukh through a really good friend of mine. On our first class she immediately could tell I was holding back. She left me breathing techniques as my first assignment. It helped me understand how I was not singing with my real voice. It also made me understand how I wasn’t breathing correctly which was also a huge component of me holding back my true voice. The second class was a break through! she had me lay down in a comfortable position while I did the breathing exercise. She put on this space trance music to relax me which allowed me to focus on my breath. Immediately after she had me sing and it was such a beautiful experience: I was finally able to let go and let my true voice come through. Emily has an incredible gift, she took the time to understand how my body normally breathes and gave me homework so I would become of aware of it. She made me understand the emotional connection about retaining my own voice/breath and how that affects my singing and everyday life; Definitely had a lot of “aha” moments. Class feels like I’m an artist discovering new art tools and I can’t wait til I’m able to paint on my canvas.”

“Thank you Emily Sat Sukh, a pleasure to meet and learn from you in such an intimate setting ... The way you taught and the space was perfect. I am grateful for the way in which you taught and your patience helped my mind to actually understand. So elegant in your words and phrasing was so helpful.”

teaming up with emily sat sukh was an amazing experience. from the beginning, sat sukh made the collaboration process progress with ease and grace. together we decided on the venue, how much to charge, and who was doing what marketing aspects. since we had never done an event together before, we created time before the event to plan out how the event would flow and play our instruments together. this allowed me to feel more at ease for the actual event. sat sukh was a complete professional. she gave suggestions and took mine on how to create the best performance together.

the day of the performance came and again, i found even on this day that sat sukh equally contributed. she helped to get the space ready by setting up the room with chairs and tables and arranging our instruments on the stage that made the most sense.

during the performance, sat sukh allowed the structure to hold the integrity of our purpose but also let the muse and energy of the group flow in as needed. i appreciated her kind and sweet teaching demeanor for the meditations. and i was happily surprised at the knowledge she had about the mantras she sang and taught to the group for the kirtan.

in the midst of the performance, i had a divine moment when i realized in the very same location, how i was the one in the audience for a similar event almost 2 years ago. back than i had no idea i would be leading a kirtan with sat sukh. i felt inspired and blessed by her co-creating the kirtan event with me just to have this moment of realizing life’s blessing of expansion.

i look forward to doing more events with sat sukh. she is a talented and professional musician, manifestor of dreams and inspiring team mate.

“I’d like to share with you again how much I appreciated and benefited from the richly layered practice you shared with us. Truly, all of what you taught/sang/played and invited us to experience resonated deeply within me, and I especially felt such high levels of collective/connective joy from the chanting at the end of my dear friend Rosco’s class! Your voice/presence is a beautiful gift, and the opportunity to join you in such lovely devotional music and song was quite a blessing!”
